Choosing an Acne Scar Fading Cream
By Dan Licamara

Acne is an unfortunate part of life but it does not have to stay with you forever. The good news is that there are plenty of options when it comes to treatments. Scars can be treated from the comfort of your own home thanks to an acne scar fading cream.

Bleaching Creams

These are among the most common over the counter medications you can find. A bleaching cream works by lightening the tone of dark spots on your skin. This effectively hides the scar from sight. A chemical called hydroquinone makes all of this a possibility. These bleaching creams can be bought even without a prescription.

Be sure that you pick up an acne scar fading cream which has a two percent concentration of hydroquinone. This dosage should be enough for most people. However, a dermatologist may prescribe one that contains a four percent concentration. Always check the labels before paying at the counter.

Bleaching creams are easy to find and are readily available at your local pharmacy. There are several companies which put out these products in the market. More often than not, there are creams with additional benefits such as skin whitening and UV protection. If you feel no need for these, you can always go for the most basic ones.

Skin Lightening Creams

Like bleaching creams these variants can also be bought without showing a doctor's prescription. This kind of acne scar fading cream may or may not contain hydroquinone depending on the manufacturer. Other active ingredients include corticosteroid and tretinoin. All these ingredients work together to achieve the same results.

These creams have been proven effective at getting rid of acne scars. With regular results, you will start seeing good results within 30 days of use. There are plenty of brands to choose from and each adds a little extra for better skin.

Some creams have a moisturizing effect which prevents your skin from drying. Others add a layer of sunscreen to protect the skin against harmful radiation. This helps conceal an acne scar better while keeping your skin looking good and feeling fresh. There are even ingredients that hide the signs of aging on your skin.

These are just some of the acne scar treatments available in the market today. There are certainly plenty more options when it comes to acne scar fading cream. Although available without prescription, it is still recommended that you consult your doctor first before using any of these solutions.
